When we discovered that Christopher Weuve was not only a former Naval Warfare college professor and a gamer, but also an expert on alien spacecraft...we just HAD to get him on the show.  Imaging our excitment when he also managed to reach out and squeeze Chris Carlson, one of the minds behind the classic game "Harpoon," into the third chair as well!  The D6G takes to the sea!

Up first: Naval Mulling Mechanics: We tackle what kind of key mechanics you really want to see in a naval combat game if you really want to emulate the challenges of naval combat.

Later we jump into a detailed review of Firestorm Armada second edition.  Does it have what it takes to get naval experts excited about this kind of space combat game?

And as a bonus: The My Little Pony collectible card game is out!  Total Fan Girl chats with a very special guest about how the game plays and why it is fun.

All that and our other not-too-horrible segments including:

What elements of today's 'wet navies' make sense in space? Christopher Weuve, former Naval Warfare college professor, joins Craig and Russ to speculate on this sci-fi nerd topic!

Luke Retallack, host of the World's End Radio podccast, brings his expert miniature knowledge back to the show from down under!

Up first we discuss the various aspects of miniature war gaming, what we look for, and which company does it best.  Who, in our opinion, has the best skirmish game? The best vehicles? The best poses?

Later we dive into the hotness that is Malifaux 2e (second edition) from Wyrd Miniatures.  What has changed? Is it better and more streamlined?

Raef "Hollywood" Granger returns to the third chair as we talk about the often tricky topic of "Game Group Dyanamics."  How do you keep a long running game group together.

Later we dive into Space Cadets: Dice Duel from Stronghold games.  Can a box of fancy dice and some bits of cardboard simulate the tension and drama of a starship bridge during combat? We'll tackle this and other pressing questions!

Famed Welsh storyteller Own Staton joins Craig and Russ this week in the third chair! Since we have a story teller we thought it might be fun to see what happens when you throw out a character concept and let him run wild creating an on-the-spot backstory.  Join us as Russ grabs character key words from a variety of RPG systems and Craig and Owen try to create compelling backgrounds with no prep time!

Later it's time to dive into one of Russ's favorite finds at GenCon 2013: Level 7: Omega Protocol from Privateer Press.  What makes this game so innovative? And is it really fair to call it "X-Com the board game?"
